Holiday Market Moves: Year-End Volatility

Happy Monday, the markets are having a wild ride. The Dow, NASDAQ, S&P, and Russell are all down, with lots of red across the board—except for a few green spots in energy and utilities. There’s no big news causing the drop; it’s just typical end-of-year stuff, with people closing accounts and taking profits. Trading volume is low since many folks are off for the holidays.

Looking at the monthly chart for the Dow, things are still positive overall, even with today’s dip. The market indicators show strength, so it’s still considered a good time to add to positions.

In short: the market’s down today, but it’s mostly holiday-related, and the overall trend is still positive. Enjoy New Year’s, have fun with family, and see you in a couple of weeks
